  11. Guy's posting this on behalf of Alan Nicholson, who organised this last year and a large number of Velo riders participated. Great Cause, please support! Preshal Arran Sportive ride 21st September 2019 Dear All, Following on from last years’ successful inaugural ride around Arran, in aid of the Preshal Trust, we are going to go again; hopefully raising a similar amount of money (or more) from Preshal and enjoying the day as much as we did last year. There will be a 'Just Giving 'page for the Preshal Trust and I will circulate the details. The Preshal Trust is a charity run in aid of people who need some shelter, some support and just somewhere to go. It is a day centre in Govan and offers food, various classes and activities and has become a very important mainstay in many people’s lives. We will take the 7 am ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick. This is always busy with cyclists and you will need to be there for 6.30am. We will be having a BBQ in Brodick at lunch time – full details in a later email that will go to all that can make the day. The return times are as below and you are free to rush and make an early ferry, or just go at your own speed and return at leisure. Return ferry times: 12.30 13.55 15.15 16.40 18.00 Please let Alan and I know as soon as possible if you can make the trip and would like to be contacted with further details about the day . If you would like a participants Ride Arran Cycling Jersey by Endura please let us know your size by the 16th August Also if there is anyone you know who would like to join the trip please pass there details to us, Please donate to the Link below. https://www.justgiving.com/pershaltrust

  13. Folks due to the 5 ferries on Sat i have proposed 1 ring as numbers will be depleted. Lets leave the Abbey at 09:00 head up through Barrhead to Stewarton and cafe stop at Clerkland Farm we will then head for Fenwick and trundle down the M77 through the Dams and back into Paisley. 40 miles and 1980 ft of climbing. See you at the Abbey at 08:50 sharp. LOOK AT THE ROUTE AND FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH IT! You might be on the front when it's time to turn, make sure you know when and where! We ride at the pace of the slowest rider on the day and we wait at the top of hills etc....... Bring a helmet, spare tubes, tools, nutrition and Plenty fluids. Money for coffee/tea, and a mobile phone......and your bike!! https://www.strava.com/routes/20719300
